Hey, I put a reply up a few days ago and it isn't there now.

At any rate, here it is again.

    Mrltd, thanks.

MrMarquis, I have two sets actually, but I have decided against putting them on the roof... for now.

Red91sit, Thanks, and the answer is "Both". It has a very small lift kit under it (aka spacers that go between the frame and the springs), 31.5" truck tires on the rear, and 29.5 up front. I had to go with the smaller tires up front to keep the turning radius managable.

95crwnvic54, I need to drop in and check on you one of these days. Oh, and it's ok to laugh, I think it's funny too. BTW, I hear you sold your 95, is it true?

Embassy, I might do that sometime. I need to get the new trans in it first though, I am down to 1st gear with second slipping. While that is fine for quick runs to the store, or the range, I don't want to try it on I64

87vicFIVEO, Thanks. The gear ratio is 3.08 with a trac lock. I have a five speed I need to put in it, and that should help with the lower first gear, but I might still put something closer to 4:10 eventually. I plan on pulling a trailer with it and some mild off roading where the lower gears will help.

in germany i would say "geil" that means magnificent, great, or something like that

you wrote that you put a little "lift kit" between the coils and the body.
is this kit an aftermarket product or is it selfmade?
i´m looking to lift my wagon a bit, as you did. but i´ll keep the turbines...

The diameter is 31.5" tall on the rear. Mileage is lousy though, since the transmission is slipping at the moment.

Donkashen (sorry for the doubtless incorrect spelling)

Actually it is just a spacer that goes between the coils and the frame.
Here is a link to similar ones on ebay.

Another way to do the same thing is replacing the springs with ones for an 85 full size Caddy.

Hmmm, I'll have to think about it. Probably a lot less than it is worth. I am still thinking about that 5 speed. I thought I had it sold but the guy never coughed up the $$$ so why not?

You need some 4.30's out back to balance out those big wheels

                        I just might at that.
I want to get the new trans in first and see how it goes. If I go with the 5 spd, it has an uber low 1st gear (from a turbo 2.3 which needed a lot of gear in 1st to get the engine spinning until it could make enough boost) Since the engine in this car is going to almost certainly remain stock, and it doesn't get hot rodded, it should hold up just fine. 2nd will be just about where 1st gear is with an AOD.

At that point I might decide I need more gear... or not. It would be nice to have a "bulldog" gear for trailer pulling and crawling around off road at an idle.

Not to mention it would be fun to be able to roast the tires at will in 1st or 2nd without dumping the clutch on a stock motor. It will frighten the local ricers. Come to think of it, they kinda give it a wide berth already!
