I'm gonna keep driving the vic for now, which means I have to spend some time with it, but nothing big. I really dont feel like going through the hasse of transferring ownerships and plates and all that bullshit on the lincoln right now. We will see how the Vic lasts

If your talking about the HO shortblock I picked up Thain, it was garbage. Whoever built it was a half-assed idiot and all the pistons were installed backwards, which ruined the pistons and the bores, fucked up the crank. Sucks cause everything in the engine was new. Brand new oil pump and every new bearing in the the engine was also fucked.

backwards pistons? nice. Could always do the motor thats in the Lincoln. It cant be any worse than that motor was. Worst case, have the block bored and get a crank kit if what you have is no good. Stab the HO cam in there and rock and roll.

Backwards pistons? I take it as there are only two valve reliefs per pistons, and not 4 like I had on my 350? That engine must have been fun when first fired up

It was an 86 Ivan with flat-tops. I couldnt even imagine the sounds this thing must have made when they got it running. Every single component was new when I took it apart, and the only things I saved were the oil pan and the timing set. brand new con rod bearings worn through to the copper. Whoever built that engine should never be allowed to touch a car again.

Anyways, I'm gonna be nursing the Vic along for now until the fate of the lincoln is decided. Did an oil change and a tranny service on the Vic tonight and it seems very appreciative. Gonna have to do the timing cover gasket, but should be pretty fast and easy since I have nothing on the right and side on the front of the engine.
