Hot sunny day. I saw a few whale Panthers on the road but didn't take any pics.

        another bad solenoid...

After getting gas tonight at 9:30pm, my car wouldn't start!!! My first guess was a bad solenoid...Total , seeing as how the current solenoid was installed less than two months ago!

I had to call a tow truck...This is the second time this summer that the old barge has died on me

          up-date...

I called the shop first thing this morning. They got the car running in a few minutes...One of the battery connections was loose! I asked them to replace the battery cables, as the current ones look to be the originals. Got them to do an MVI as well because it's due at the end of August anyway.

            damn rust...

I took the '79 in for a "pre-inspection" last week. The car will not pass because the rear bumper mounts are rusted out. I'm going to take the car to a welder to see if he can help me. I called Lincoln Land and they didn't have the required parts in stock, so they suggested I contact Classique Cars Unlimited. I called this place and they have the parts BUT they are pricey!! By the time shipping is included, I'd be paying hundreds of dollars...

If the bumpers mounts aren't any weird shapes maybe a buddy can cut some flat stock up and weld all of that on?

That's what I'm going to look into next week.

That's precisely what I had done. This welding job cost me $200. Here's a look:

                      storage pics

I put the barge in storage on Sunday. The car saw snow but the roads weren't salted.

                        First drive of the year

I got my car out of the shed yesterday. Hooked up the battery, pumped the pedal a few times, then the car fired up without hesitation. Impressive! I put the new plate tags on it then drove home without any problems

                          cool!

Do you run it at all over the winter time or does it sit from November-May like most around here? Look forward to some summer pictures.

How far are you in NB from the confederation bridge?

Stored from November to May. I'll never drive it during the winter. I'm not sure about the distance from Confederation Bridge BUT I do know that it's a 7+ hour drive from your location to mine.

Cool. Reason I asked is I might be in PEI this summer, would be nice to meet up if it's not too far from teh bridge.
