This morning I dropped the exhaust from the cats back, removed the drive shaft, under frame braces, fuel filter metal housing cage as well as attempted to wiggle out the tranny x member. That was not happening and I did not feel like removing the h pipe to do so. I'll clean that up once the new engine goes in.

Oh yeah I am doing this because I am continuing the underside makeover with eastwoood products.I blew out the frame from the front tires to the rears on each side, hammered the frame to knock rust loose and then blew it out. I heavily coated everything with internal frame coating and now am taking a break as thundershowers seem to be rolling in.

Weeks back I picked up a less rusty fuel filter metal housing cage thing and wire wheeled it, rust converted it and rust encapsulated it. Will get chassis black once the rest of the underside is ready.

Next non rainy/humid day I will begin descaling the underside of the car from the rear wheels to the front wheels and get everything covered in rust converter. After that I will have to wait 48 hours for it to dry and be ready for rust encapsulator. Then another day and a scuffing session the frame will be ready for its extreme chassis black.

Geez I don't envy all that grinding without a lift. Do you have a preferred rust converter?

Yeah it is not fun but you sorta just lay there on cardboard so it ain't horrible. Just take a nap every now and then.

I am using eastwoods rust converter. Worked really well so far. Pretty pricy though but the spots that I did use it on compared to the spots I didn't (and now have to redo lol) make it worth it too me.

Nice work!!! Really important item for working under the cars is a sweatshirt or sumtin for use as a pillow. Otherwise it's neck cramp for the rest of the week.

Speaking of neck cramps....Put in 8 hours under the old gal today.

Needle scaled, wire wheels, degreased, scuffed and rust converted. Boy did I shoot myself in the foot on this job. Years back I sprayed the entire underside with rust reformer and rubberized undercoating...well; years later that is such a bitch to get off lol.

I looked like a chimney sweeper after I was done.

The next time I undercoat the CV, I will wear coveralls that I got from work. Everytime I use POR15, I manage to coat an arm and/or hand(s).
