Some metal that was originally used to hold on my "mexicano special" blue flamed neon brake pedal. Cut the original two pieces of bracketry in halves and bent accordingly. Not sure exactly what type of metal it was made out of but it was tougher than aluminum.

New mufflers arrived the other day. They were on a fox mustang but I know my father and I can make them work. They are magnaflows...that is the most I know aside from the fact that they are 2.5 in and out offset/offsets and polished!

I was disappointed with my magna's until I put some miles on them and they started sounding better. So if you don't like them at first give it awhile.

Thanks for letting me know guys! I purchased them used from a guy in Jersey. Said he had them on his car for a couple hundred miles...so maybe they will already be broken in?

I am pushing for getting it done asap....I know I said that a thousand times but this time i mean it. Like I mentioned earlier the shop doing the body work did not want to paint my car because I have high standards and they couldnt make me happy so I am gonna have to cough up some major dough now to get her done. I have to get some quotes from some shops and see what the deal is. Right now I am busy with work until Wednesday and I have been working everyday since the 19th of august. I have zero time away from work right now.

I think they will be LOUD! It is basically a flow through design. Goes in and just angles to the outlet. I shined a flashlight into the muffler and the light was really bright coming out of it. I am excited!

I hope they sound as good as they look. As far as the fit goes, I think we have offset/offset muffs on our cars, so as long as you and your father cut the proper length to the mid-pipes, then you should be able to get those Magnas in the stock location.

                        Painted Power Steering Cooler

Today I stripped down and painted my power steering cooler. I painted it aluminum and the hardware low gloss black. I clear coated everything.

The cooler and pipe off of the steering box drying

                        The cooler:

                        The pipe:

And the hardware with new hoses:

And the whole deal drying off in the shed:

A look at things to paint

Silver x's indicate things to be painted aluminum and black x's indicate things to be painted low gloss black.

Feel free to let me know of any other things to paint. Going strictly with a tutone under the hood. Aluminum and low gloss black. if a piece has bolts and what not the body automatically gets painted the other color to keep the contrast going.

So far to be painted aluminum are:
                          1. blower motor housing
                          2. fender supports
                          3. EGR valve base
                          4. alternator bracket support
                          5. coil bracket
                          6. map sensor bracket
                          7. cruise vacuum reservoir

To be painted low gloss black are:
                          1. alternator bracket
                          2. EGR valve bell
                          3. master cylinder cover
                          4. radiator hold downs

Great idea going with the contrasting colors! I think it'll be a good fit for under your hood, not to mention look ballin'!

Definitely recommend taking off the aluminum AC bracket and polishing it with metal polish...i did mine and it looks awesome, and the shine hasn't faded in over 2 years. PLus it'll help compliment the alternator bracket your painting black, hmm perhaps you should paint that aluminum as well actually, and paint the bracket support black...just a thought.

Thanks Phil. I will look into polishing that bracket.

About the alternator bracket...the alternator is aluminum so it wouldn't fit too well having aluminum alternator--->aluminum alternator bracket----->black bracket support. I am picky.

Painted up the high pressure power steering hose as well as the clip that holds the hard lines together out of the steering box.

Clip primed, painted low gloss black and cleared

Hose primed, painted aluminum and cleared
