yeah... that 93 escort hatch I sold was laughable off the line... but it would corner so epically that I could keep the speed I had through most corners (the tires would bitch at me about it... but meh). 30mph around a 90 degree residential street was pushing it... but 45 on a 90 degree main street (6 lanes to 6 lanes - 3 each direction) was no problem at all and could be pushed further.I did slide it at 45mph making a tighter left one day... I think it's about 110-120 degrees. tail got about 10 degrees off center in the middle of the turn. was kinda fun actually. I can't get near that kinda turning in any of my panthers though... but I can regain lost speed pretty quick in the vic and Mark after the turns.

Thanks Gabe
And you are right Slymer. This car does handle pretty well once you push it a bit, admittedly better then my Vic. lol I am a member on FEOA and a couple people autocross these cars. Seems like a good base car to begin with for such an event.~David~

yeah... I would think that total drive train replacement and stiffer springs/struts/antiroll bar would make for a great handling car... not to mention that if you threw a newer 2.0L turbo in there... it would haul ass.
oh yeah... and bigger brakes... don't forget about stopping too

Last week I installed my 'new' junkyard acquired vent visors. I only found three good condition ones (two front and one rear) so I only put on the front set. Still looking for a passengers side rear vent shade to have the complete set. I love the look of them on the front..just wished I have the entire set.
Yesterday I removed the air intake snorkel/baffle sound reducer thing. What an odd contraption of plastic to say the least. Car sounds a tad louder now which is nice.
Next on the list is a new pair of rear speakers. Currently sporting the stockers from '94. They can't handle the little amount of base my cheapie headunit puts out so they have to go.
Otherwise the car has been doing. Filled up this morning and to my surprise the car is putting down 29 MPG city/highway!~David~

Cleaned up the engine bay as well as the interior and exterior today including shaving down the alignment nipples on the headlights and completely sanding them down for polish.
Started with a rotary tool and a cut off disc and removed the nipples...then sanded them down with 150 then 220. Then I went over the entire lens with 400, 600, 100 and finally 2000 before the using the lens restoring polish I have...to complete them I wiped them down with 303 aerospace protectant.
For the engine bay I wet it down (using a warm engine) with simple green then used a toothbrush, sock and pressure washer to make it look pretty again. I covered the alternator as well as the maf sensor and the coil pack, and before and after the wash I sprayed wd 40 in all electrical connections. I sprayed the battery down with battery terminal cleaner then a protectant. Finished off the entire job with dousing the bay with 303 aerospace protectant.
And for the exterior...just the usual wash with Meguiar's Gold Class shampoo...and then ultimate spray wax.

Installed a new water pump today. The old one was making noise and when we pulled it out it had a TON of side to side movement. Also popped in a new crank seal.~David~
