the 88 is fair game for eating in it (the interior is already crap). The rest... only trusted ppl can (myself and my wife).

      +1 no smoking.

Painted the rear drums today and the front calipers Friday after work. For the calipers I just wire wheeled the hell out of them and brake cleaned them until they were clean. Masked off and sprayed. For the drums I rested them in evaporust...this stuff is great! Just look at the difference

        Painted:

        Complete:

Forgot to get pictures of the front calipers.

Friday I also Stripped the dew wipe trim of its flaking plastic on the passengers side. Sanded everything out smooth then shot some adhesion promoter on the little strip of rubber left near the base of the trim, self etching primer then trim paint. Looks much better then dry rotted plastic.

Also popped on a better condition front license plate holder.

            Hey Jay

Yes. All I did was take the drums off and place them in a bucket and pour the evaporust enough to fully submerge the two. I let them sit from 3pm Friday to about 9am this morning. I took them out and just rinsed them off with water and that is what I was left with. No joke.

                    Thanks guys.

Next up is talking care of the little rust flakage in the under door seams of the drivers side front and rear door. Rear door has it worse. Gonna grind it all out. If any little hole I will break out the welder, etch prime, bondo glass it, bondo gold it then etch prime, filler prime, wet sand out then blend color and clear.

After that I have to repaint the tops of the bumper covers. They are all dull and wont take a shine. Then the little channel in the front and rear bumper as well as the lower portion of the front and rear bumper as well as the door molding will get painted with some Dark Charcoal bumper paint, after all was smoothed out.

Then there is still more to do.........but this is enough for now.

Where do you get the Evapo-rust ? How expensive is it? I have never seen it.

                      Comment

I purchased it at PepBoys. I purchased two jugs like the one I have in the photo and it totaled to 52bucks. Those were my fourth and fifth jugs between the Crown Victoria and Escort! I like this stuff so the money is really worth it to me. I hear WD-40 now makes something similar. maybe that would be more economical?

Anyways, my rear strut bar came in today and I popped it one and snapped a pic of the new rear bar with the new front bar I installed a couple weeks back

Pressure washed the engine bay today. Went through hell finding the damn washer. Dad hid it underneath the stairs in the basement...the last time I seen it was outside in one of the sheds.

Not much of a difference actually but it was time to take care of it again.

To bad it has been chilly and windy as of late. I would have really liked to tackle the door seam rust today.
