my car starts and it has AC. Yours doesn't start and it has no AC. Seems obvious to me.

Got hit by a minivan doing about 50. Hit with enough momentum to drag me up the street. Totally destroyed that van. I was going to sell the merc to a family friends junkyard and I got my hands on a 96 Monte Carlo. That thing was so beat up and horrible I went and pulled the merc out of the yard and fixed it.

Amazing the types of hits these vehicles can take and still be streetable. The hood scoop on the rebuilt 88 Grand Marquis was functional? Guessing you just cut a hole open in the stock air box?~David~

Scrapped it in winter of 07/08. Wasn't able to get the alignment totally fixed after the accident. It was downright unsafe in snowy conditions. It needed all the ball joints replaced and they were all rusted in (pep boys quoted me at $700+) and I didn't know how to do the work myself or have the tools so I took it to the scrap yard and got $450. Bought the Blue vic a week later for $200. I miss the merc but that vic was immaculate for what it was. It lived in Texas for the first 190k miles. No rust besides the vinyl top. Transmission around 12k on it. All it needed was valve cover gaskets and a heater core.Last edited by PainFisted; 03-30-2014, 03:34 AM.
