hopefully the car will be pretty light, hoping to get it to weigh under 3800 lbs. i have no emissions, no HVAC system, removing all the sound deading, going to lighter seats, i can save about 75 lbs. just by getting rid of the factory exhaust. The next big mod will be heads either some Roush 200 or Edelbrock performer RPM

Dont waste your cash on performer rpms. AFR 165's will make 400 hp on a stock HO 5.0, with stock cam, ect... the only thing they did was put on 1.7 rockers. And Thats the base model head!!, and you have a 351!!!, and you got nitrous!!!!, and for 50 more you can get 185's which are even better. They are pricey though, but you cannot beat em. Jegs carries them for 1300 and some change. Here is a link to the artical. http://carcraft.com/techarticles/116_0307_ford/

The 185s are kinda to small for a 351, they really need the 205s or bigger. i am most likely going to the Roush heads, the 40# difference is not really worth $400 to me. Plus with iron head you dont have the problems with valve guides working themselves loose over time.

On a side note there is a local guy here running a 306 with ported Performer RPMs pushing 1200HP on a single turbo and blow through carb in a 89 Mustang.

400 bucks definetly changes minds and you're right, with an iron head you dont have to worry about warping, valve guides, and spark plugs getting frozen.

1200hp in a stang is so awesome!

got the header to fit and clear the steering shaft. i just need to finish welding the header about a half hour of work left on that. Then i just need to get gas in the carb, hook up guages, put in the battrey and fire.

So in conclusion Mustang mid-legnth headers will work on a Windsor as long as you narrow the drivers side 1", #8 needs an additional 3/8" to clear.

im hoping for 300hp/400ft/lbs at the crank on motor but i will settle for 275/375, as for the sound open headers +gear drives.

I might not get a vid of the first fire due to trying to get it running and set timing and the carb but i will get a video of it

it has been a while since i updated so.

havent got a lot accomplished, but i started running the fuel line, wired up the switches for the Fuel pump, ignition, gauges and gauge lights, tomorrow i am taking my dash pad to work so i can contour the bottom of my guage pod to fit on the dash. The guage pod is made out of 1/4' expanded PVC board with a aluminum face to mount the gauges to.

finished my guage pod today, it is alittle to big but i dont really have anywhere else to put them. i also did the switch panel and finished wiring the guages and switches. the face of the switch panel and the guage pod are 6061-T6 aluminum that i engine turned.

switches. the big space is there to allow more switches in the future.

                              You do some great work.

A little trick I learned because of electrical shortages; when those wire to wire conectors get old they crack and show bare metal. I put the right size(snug) rubber hose cut a little longer safest way to go. Or atleast wrap it with duct tape. Electrical tape is a bitch to put on correctly in tight places. Where you wrap it tight, becaust the glue is worthless.
