Who knows anything about window tint?

I placed an ad on a local site to get someone to tint Herk's windows for less than taking it to a pro. I can live with some minor imperfections. On the other hand I don't want it blistering or turning purple like the cheap crap often does.

So I figured I ought to know something about tint, as my info is about a decade out of date.

What are pro's charging for a box wagon these days? What should I pay a skilled amateur?

Also what brands are good and where do I get them?

Also anyone near want the job?

        I've gotten quotes of $150+/-
Not that much more than some yahoo without a guarantee would do it for.
Call up some shops and let them give you a quote. A phone call is still free and only takes a few minutes.

True, since the only yahoo that has responded wanted $200 to do it in his driveway ifI bought the material.

I did have a guy lined up to do it a few weeks back who only wanted like $100, and had material on hand I could pick from. Unfortunately he was moving so we only had a few weekends to try it, nut we never managed to hook up.

wagons only have 2 extra windows, big deal, a lil more material and they are easy windows to do, shouldent be more than 50bux more to do a wagon opposed to a reg panther

canadian dollar is 98 cents american these days. our money is crap.

I've also heard 200-250 bucks is about average. Need to get my car done, it'll help with the AC. I also have the same concern though, I do not want purple tint.

I just had a weird thought. If I bought cheap purple tint, what color would it turn when it faded?

Hey BigLinc. Better yet, I'll buy the tint for both cars and you install it.
I might even be able to scrounge up a junker for you to practice on...

OK Well I talked to Dragon.
He owns solar tint out in Hammond Indiana.

Suntek is the best brand to get for the lowest cost. DO NOT get any tint made of plastic!!! it WILL turn purple & bubble up.

You want to get tint made with chrome or titanium & yes they are still Black. Or if you would like pretty much any color you can think of but some may need to be special orderd.

He said for a waggon it would be anywhere from $190 to $230 Depending on the brand of tint & where you go. He said he dosn't know of anywhere near you that would be able to do him a favor.....sorry. $190 is what he would charge for his top of the line with life time garentee & $230 would be for the absolute best stuff in the world at an over priced shop.

Hope this helps at least a little.
                              Good luck
