door panel carpet removal?

I haven't had a chance to check my extra door panels, so I have to ask ...

How is the lower carpeted portion of the CV/GM door panels attached to the backing? What is involved in switching that portion with a different section?

I just did this on the door panels you sent me. They are stapled around the edges to the back of the door panel cardboard. There is also a bit of contact cement holding the edges down. When I switched the carpet sections on mine, I cut the sewn seem on the front with an Exacto knife, pulled the staples on the back, and peeled the edges off the cardboard. When installing the carpet sections, I used some double stick tape just to hold everything in place, then stapled the edges onto the back. Instead of sewing the top edge back onto the front, I just ran a line of staples while holding the edge of the binding back. The edge of the binding covers those staples and they are not seen at all.
