    Interior Door trim clips

I need help finding what they seem to be as angled license plate nuts that snap into the frame of the door so the arm rests can be bolted or screwed into the door. of an 89 crown Vic. All 10 on both front driver and passenger side doors dry rotted and cracked. Now I can't screw the arm rests into the doors. I went to a Mars and even Ace and they both said I wouldn't be able to find them. I need help!!!

This is what you are talking about?

The only thing that makes me think you are talking about something different is the fact that metal cannot dry rot.

Non the less these are the clips used to secure the armrest to the door panel/door.

Take an old one to Ford. It is possible that you can get a part number. The dealer can also tell you if anyone nationwide has it.
If the dealer says no one has them, at least you have a part number to give us. Someone here may be able to help you.

Second option is to make a junkyard run.

Glad you found what you needed. I wonder why ford went away from the metal ones?

Plastic is cheaper. The metal was the old way, and it worked. Those plastic things are a PITA when they strip. I'll have to peruse that site to see if I can find the goofy trim clips for the Lincoln's front fender trim too.

That's what I was thinking, it saves a few pennies.

I think the only car I had with the metal clips was the 84 CV parts car I had. I think my 87 CV had plastic and I know everything that I had that was 88+ had plastic.
