I'm going to have to agree with Mercracer. Ford-published curb weights for the various boats from the 70s were all 4500 as an absolute minimum, and those were generally no-option cars with the smallest engine. Something truly large like a 77 town car with a 460 was well over 5000lbs.

85 4 door 351 Civi Crown Victoria - Summer daily driver, sleeper in the making, and wildly inappropriate autocross machine
160KMs 600cfm holley, shorty headers, 2.5" catted exhaust, 255/295 tires, cop shocks, cop swaybars, underdrive pulley, 2.73L gears.
waiting for install: 3.27's, Poly bushings, boxed rear arms, 2500 stall converter, ported e7's, etc

06 Mazda 3 hatch 2.3L 5AT (winter beater that cost more than my summer car)

I believe it, but I'm gonna wait.. Even though I want it so badly. I need to bring my marquis back to life. It's fine now, but it needs a good bit a love still.

As tested on a certified scale by the Michigan State Police in 1978, the LTD II with a 400 weighs over 4600 lbs. With a 351W they weighed about 4500lbs. A full sized LTD with a 460 weighs about 4900 lbs. That is 1000lbs more than a Panther with a 302 and 900lbs more than a Panther with a 351W.
nah its a fullsize 2 door LTD landau with a 351M. Remember, I did say there was ice on the scale so it couldve been off several hundred pounds. Now that I think of it, it was at a junkyard in Durham so I would imagine its "off" a little so they dont have to pay people as much for their junk cars.

I only drove up there for a rough estimate for how much it weighs.

Yeah i can tell you right now...spreading resources between three cars is a total bitch at times.

Look at your registration paper you carry with you in your wallet or look at the title. Here in New York at least the weight of the vehicle is printed on it. I just found out that my Crown Victoria originally was 3,658 while my Escort is 2,411.

I would highly question that weight as being valid....

I am curious as to which one? Or are you saying in general all weights no matter vehicle?

Weight is also mentioned on the title of the vehicle.

we need to get to some cat scales and settle this, once and for all.

The weight listed for a car from the factory usually doesn't take options into account.
