    82 GM on Craigslist

Saw this on Craigslist. Isn't it unusual to have a full vinyl top? I can't remember ever seeing one with it.

It seems the earlier cars sometimes had them.
1990 MGM: $50 E7 heads, HO cam, Holley SysteMAX lower intake, HO upper intake with an Explorer TB. LSC ECM. Lincoln logs into stock dual exhaust. K&N drop in air filter. Wide ratio AOD, 2400 converter with a 3.08 one tire fire out back. Car is less slow now. Then there's the '92 Beater. Dual 2.25" exhaust with shiny tips. Rumbles nice. Super slow. Burns oil too.

Full vinyl top on pre '83 cars was common on trim levels, that were of just the base marquis.

That's nice and a good price. I'm a sucker for manual windows.

I wonder if HearsesRock has seen this...

That car is in excellent condition for an East coast car. Great price. Someone here should snag it.

I had a 91 former undercover car I bought in 1999. It had the 351w and was a shade of metalic blue I've never seen on a ford. The door jambs matched the rest of the car flawlessly, but the trunk and hood were state police gray underneath. For some reason they also decided to put a full vinyl top on it.
Somehow it looked good on that car.

I wish I could. :\ It's basically my dream Grand Marquis. I promised myself I wasn't going to by another car unless it was a 70s LTD though....

Promises when it comes to cars could be broken. Promises to the wife, that is a different story. BUY IT, BUY IT.

In good shape but it's a stripper. Manual windows are only acceptable on a two door or truck, I'd pass.

I've already begun fap- I mean CALCULATING. I don't normally look outside Monroe County for projects on Craigslist, nor do I usually consider anything before 1986.

But I'd make an exception for this one. I love how quirky and odd it is. First of all, manual windows on a box Grand Marq sedan! I've only seen Grand Marqs (sedan and coupe variety) come with power windows. Even GS trim cars came with them standard. Must've been something you could delete for a credit. Full vinyl top is neat too- thought you could only get that on the Lincolns. I'd still get it slicktopped at some point- just not for a few years.

Added this to the list of cars to consider. Will be watching this one.

This looks like a real nice car. Looking at the sales brochure it is very possible the original owner special ordered the car.The full vinyl top was an option. Power front seat option available with split bench seats. Am/FM radio option. Right side mirror option. 15 wheels and wheel covers optional. Standard was 14 in. 302 V-8 optional. standard was 255 V-8. Crank windows were standard. Cruise control optional. Looks like it does not have optional tilt wheel.
The sales brochure shows a 4 door base model with a full top, but even more basic than the one for sale.
