Yesterday I had the car on jacks with the front wheels off to grease my steering linkage. I turned the steering wheel a few times, with the engine off, and the power steering pump popped its cap and barfed out a bunch of fluid.
Surely that is not normal?
It doesn't do it when I drive the car. I've seen it do this before with the wheels on the car, on the ground, engine off. I was surprised to see it happen with the front end in the air and little friction.
