Been fooling with Mopars since my teens, but I developed an affinity for the Panther platform cars in the last 15 years or so. Guess I'm getting old? Maybe it's that half the people on the planet decided that they're also "Mopar guys" in the last 20 years (driven by all the reality show hype, perhaps?), and I abhor bandwagons (love STATION wagons, on the other hand!) A big selling point is it's the last REAL American car, a body bolted to a chassis with a V8 engine and a solid rear axle. A few of them look good, too. ('98 - '11's are my fave).
My non-Mopar fleet consists of:
1979 LTD-S Station Wagon ("Quincy"), 302 c.i., (presently - more to come!), black, paid $200 to janitorial service
2003 "P73" Crown Victoria (haven't named this one, oddly enough!), 4.6L, powder blue, paid $1500 to original owner, outstanding condition
2004 "P73" Crown Victoria ("Tassles"), 4.6L, white, paid $776 @ employee auction (was the plant manager's transportation), outstanding condition
2004 "P71" CV Police Interceptor ("Adam 12"), 4.6L, black/white, paid $1350 @ online auction, low miles, most (legal) cop accessories still in place (I also have the cage, bars, etc. to put back in), very good condition
Right now, my focus is on the '79 wag. Building an aluminum head 351W, eventually plan to add supercharger. Have added slicks, 4.10 "TrueTrac" (from 2.26:1!!!) and bagged the rear end. Work is in progress, this is a "Roadkill"-style build, not premium $$$. I will likely be asking a lot of questions and consensus regarding this vehicle in the coming weeks/months, I've already done a bunch of reading and research.
