hey guys im the newest of the new here. im a vw guy threw and threw but i was looking for a "winter" beater when i came acrossed this cherry pie
its a 1981 Mercury Grand Marquis. i got lucky as it has the 351 windsor with od tranny in it with only 71,000 original miles. i bought the car for 400 american dollars, its a blast to drive and SUPER comfy. i have a set of 20" polished 5 spokes laying around that are the same bolt pattern but im not convinced thats the way i wanna go. let me know whatcha think

Nice Merc!

As much as I like the 302 in my '85, I'd love a 351w. Maybe it's cause I'm used to the 472 in my other ride. There's no replacement for displacement.

VWs can be rather cool, I just need more then four cylinders. I must agree with the advice of not putting 20s on the Merc. It may be becuase I am in my early 30s, but I dislike the huge rims that are popular. They remind me of either a wagon wheel or a micro-machine look.
