So I just bought this 93 MGM and it burns oil really bad. Considering it burns all the time and having some oil shit coming out of the exhaust I'm guessing it's the rings and not the valve seals. So I found a 95 Lincoln with a rebuilt transmission. I figure it would just be easier to pull it all out instead of just the engine. While I am swapping this out is there anything that I should replace or anything I should check into before changing it out? Any gaskets or stuff like that. Also this should be a direct fit without changing anything, am i correct?

95 will have the same issues with the valve seals. Those changed in 96. Valve cover gaskets, valve seals and valve springs are all candidates for changing along with the oil filter adapter gasket and head gaskets if more than 200k on it.

I think that mostly stopped, but check with a tape measure. It'll be about an inch and a half different.
1995 should be a 4R70w, where the original was an AODE. I believe you will need to re-pin the trans harness to make this work. Fairly minor to do this.
And yeah, valve seals. Same shit. DO the EGR channels while the motor is out, you'll have better access. It can be done in the car, but you may as well save yourself the backache if you can.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Honestly, I'd bet valve seals would solve your issues, all 91-95's have the crappy ones so either way your going to be changing them. hat would be preferred but more complex. A compression test would give basic condition info. If the compression is good then seals would be the likely culprit.
