    Squeaky suspension?

So last week my car decided to make squeaky noises. It seems to be coming from the front passenger side of the car. It also seems to make the squeak when the body of the car moves up, not down.

I just replaced the shock absorbers thinking that was the problem since that side's absorber was leaking.

Here is the video of the sound when I stop abruptly.

When I'm driving down roads with buildings next to me (such as when I'm in Manhattan) it sounds horrible. What could this be? Thanks!

Control arm bushings could be a bit squeaky on the metal sleeve. Ball joints going bad is more of a rattle. Grease everything up there with a zero and drive it around again

What kind of car is this?

My '88 made squeaky noises whenever it would go over soft bumps - turned out those rubber moldings were rubbing against the bumper. Slathered 'em up with silicone paste and have been squeak free ever since.

          In no special order:
          Ball joints
          control arm bushings
          sway bar endlinks

If you're over 100K, any or all are liable to be bad.

I narrowed it down to be coming from my rear passenger wheel. I'm going to look more into it tomorrow.

So I tried to find out where the squeak is coming from but found nothing.

Look into the bumper rubbing something. I had Ashley rock the car from the front while I crawled around under it and determined the noise was coming from the bumper filler making contact with the bumper itself. Tightening the bumper did nothing as it was tight, silicone paste did the trick in my case. Your results may vary.

I tried the siliconing the bumper - still nothing.

My mechanic said it could be my breaks and rotors, is this possible?

lightly apply the brakes and see if it stops making the noise. If it does its related to the brakes.

It's not affected with braking. I'm not sure what it could be [emoji24].

                      It's super obnoxious!

The car only has 105k miles on it too.

does it make the noise if you just push down on the bumper without making the car roll at all? If so, could be the shocks or control arms. If no sound that way and requires rolling (what I'm leaning towards), pull the rear rotors and check the parking brake pads and see if you see any shiny rub spots. If there's no pad left on the shoe... you found your problem. If the clip holding the shoe to the backing plate is loose/gone, the shoe has probably rubbed a good groove into the rotor or the axle's lug plate.

It does not when the car is bounced not in motion. I have just realized my E-brake does not work. It does, but VERY faintly, not as much as last month when I used it.

While I was driving into Manhattan just before, I noticed a rattling tin-can sound coming from the rear of my vehicle. So I'm thinking it's a loose plate.

The parking garage attendants will never let me take the wheel off to investigate. I'll have to wait till Sunday to look at it more.

                          Prayers for my car please

So guys, you are never going to believe this.

My rear right shock absorber is blown and was causing this noise. I am EXTREMELY unhappy.

I just had to replace 2 of my brand new front shocks (heavy duty suspension motorcraft shock absorbers) because they were leaking and now my rear right is SPRINGY with a metal and metal noise over bumps.

Not exactly sure why 3/4 shocks failed within about a year. it makes no sense.

do you drive over speed bumps at high speeds or get airborne a lot? That will do it. If you don't drive like a crazy person I can only suspect you just ended up with shitty parts or somehow they were installed wrong. Not sure how you install a shock wrong on these, but I've seen people fuck things up that should be impossible to fuck up more than once.
