2007 Grand Marquis Blower Motor issues

Yesterday, my daughter said the air stopped working in her 2007 Grand Marquis. About 3 months ago I replaced the blower motor resistor as the blower was only working on high speed. Yesterday, I did not see any blown fuses in the box and there was power going to the blower motor. I figured it was the blower motor itself. I replaced the blower motor and still no air. I spoke with a mechanic who suggested it could be the blower motor resistor again. I ordered one from Rock Auto. I just wanted to make sure I have my bases covered and it isn't something else. Thanks.

power goes to the motor, then to the resistor, so yeah, probably the resistor, connector, or the ground wire. The fan switch controls the input to the resistor. If the resistor is not a transistor (solid state) then the switch is in the loop to ground and can be considered suspect as well.
