    Hardened push rods...

I think I need hardened push rods for the beehive springs. Does anyone know the stock length so I can order the right ones?

I ran stock push rods in the 306 I built for my 88GM. it had beehive springs from crane as well as a .530" lift cam. stock pushrods and lifters worked fine, even during the 5,500 RPM pulls on the chassis dyno.

Should only need them if you have push rod guide plates. If your spring pressures are high enough that you need them bolt down rockers would break anyway.

Thanks for the opinions, guys. I didn't think I needed them, but a builder told me I would. He kept bringing up RRs, though, so no matter what I said I'm pretty sure he was stuck on the idea I'm running rollers, which would make a difference. I guess.

I'll do the spring swap ASAP and post up some pictures... then I'll be able to put it on a dyno, too!! Woot!

Hey, 88grandmarq- how did you get yours on? I hear normal spring compressors won't fit 'em.

If you use pedestal mount roller rockers you dont need guide plates. if you use stud mount roller rockers then you will need guide plates and hardened pushrods.
