Click on the link to my Crown Vic's CarDomain page and go to the "Under the hood" page. I had to rebuild my carb and I did a writeup of it, complete with pictures, there.

Oh, a VV rebuld. Be brave young Jedi, be brave.

I was also under the impression that a VV did not have a need for an accelerator pump, since it was supposed to maintain perfect A/F mix under all circumstances, accelerating or not.

Sounds a lot like mine was acting. I put a kit in it and it's (mostly) been well behaved ever since.

Just because it would have required making a special manifolding setup for the 351W. The 302 intake doesn't fit (deck heights are different) and the truck intake is too tall. It just doesn't pay to make a special part that's used on so few cars.

                  Dunno much bout carb's but...

I would scrap the VV and get a 525 CFM Barry Grant Road Demon with a ford kickdown and it'll run like a spotted ape.. Or a holley if you dont wanna spend 350 bucks...

Or Edelbrock Performer 1406 or 1405. Those work very well, are pretty much trouble free, and are so easy to work on you could teach a monkey to rebuild 'em.

                      Demon For brute force power
                      Holley for both

I don't think Missouri has sniffer tests. If they do i'll stay on the Kansas side, since i'm only 5 minutes from Mizzou anyways.
