    If its attached in some way, it won't die, but if the cable is just hanging there not attached to anything, its gonna asplode. The rubber/plastic one is the stock replacement. The brass is an upgrade part, though I don't really know why the brass one hasn't superseded the plastic part. probably they have, but there are a crapload of plastic ones still in existence to sell off first.

          the Ford dealer charged me $2.34 for 1 plastic bushing...assholes.
          like mrltd said, it's about 97 cents worth of plastic. WTF.
          but yea, it's on and the car's all good.

            8 bucks for the brass bushing and the clip? wtf?........i get packs of 4 from team ford......about 4.75 for ea one

            1986 lincoln towncar signature series. 5.0 HO with thumper performance ported e7 heads, 1.7 roller rockers, warm air intake, 65mm throttle body, 1/2" intake spacer, ported intakes, 3.73 rear with trac lock, 98-02 front brake conversion, 92-97 rear disc conversion, 1" rear swaybar, 1 3/16" front swaybar, 16" wheels and tires, loud ass stereo system, badass cb, best time to date 15.94 at 87 mph. lots of mods in the works 221.8 rwhp 278 rwt

              If that ever fails, then I've just ran outta luck for the next 7 years. It's an old pic tho, the Tv cable has since then been replaced with one off a 3.8 T-bird, which is even longer than the Mark VII one and therefore makes for a much smoother bend.
