New option for EFI 351s

Edelbrock is selling a EFI manifold that is based off the carb'd super victor intake. The intake is $350 the required fuel rails are $80, you just add either a 4150 style throttle body or an elbow and a regular throttle body. This should fit under a stock hood with just some removal of some bracing. They are best suited for either big inch windsors or high RPM motors

Super Victor 351W EFI is based on the Super Victor 351W manifold #2924. Designed for high rpm or large displacement high performance 351 Windsor Ford V8s with a deck height of 9.5" which operate between 4500 and 8500 rpm. Can be used with ported cast iron or aftermarket aluminum heads, such as Edelbrock Victor Jr. #77169 or Victor heads #77219 for ultra high-horsepower. Runners have a 3.20 square-inch cross sectional area.

I don't know if this has been suggested before, but what the hell; Edelbrock Performer EFI Truck 5.8L part #EDE-3881 and the Victor version part #EDE-3887. I have no clue if you'll need a hood scoop for a CV, GM, or TC; probably do though.

Scott told me today about the Typhoon intake, which is available on eBay. You have to buy the upper and lower seperately, and all told it comes to around 350 bucks. I can only assume it'd fit under the hood of a CV since it's sold for Mustangs and I'm guessing they have less space under their hoods than we do under ours.

Yup, with a regular air cleaner it would just look like a old carb'd motor but with injector rails.

Theres a simmilar intake like that called the spyder, CHP sells em along with the elbow.

Yeah, but the Spyder intake is about $700

Anybody who knows a competent machine shop can make their own EFI "spyder" intake from pretty much any carb'd intake simply by purchasing rails and the elbow from CHP.

You simply need to have injector bungs welded into the runners and then make the brackets to properly retain the rails. You can then run any sized TB up to I believe 75 or 90mm.

In theory, you could run a dual-plane this way and thus not worry about the death of your low-end torque that would occur with a big single-plane intake.

Dual planes work best when converted to FI with aftermarket FI setups with the ability to adjust each cylinder since air flow in them is quite different cylinder to cylinder.

Yeah, but so is the stock HO/Lo-po intake, flow varies like 50 CFM on some runners
