    Oil Filters

Once I get the Cherry Bomb back, now that the garage is clean, I can pull the car inside and change my own oil instead of paying $15-30 for someone else to do it.

Just curious as to what brand oil filters you guys like and which ones I should stay away from.

And what weight oil would I be best using?

I use a Motorcraft FL-1A and 10W-30 if you engine is solid. If she's got a lot of miles, 10W-40 can be used in mild to warm climates.

I come from a Pennzoil family. The inside of my mom's '87 5.0 T-Bird is like new because of it and it has 216K. Blaze's engine looked good inside as well. Brand name dino oil changed every 3K miles will protect almost any engine (air cooled gets a little effy) and keep it clean inside.

I was using FL1-a filters because I got a bunch of them for $1.50 each, now I'm using PowerFlo or whatever the jobber branded Purolator is at Advance. Usually I use Wal Mart synthetic oil.
