making a mustang throttle body and egr work

If I use the mustang BBK 65mm EGR and the explorer 65mm TB, will the mustang bracket and throttle cables hook up? And the TV cable that I can use is from a 3.8 T-bird? I really have no idea what to do

Have fun, be creative! I doubt the Explorer TB has the provisions for the TV cable though.

Correct, Explorer throttle lever does NOT have a fitting for the TV cable.

what upper intake are you using now? I see your explorer intake is for sale.

this is the throttle body I am getting, it does have a TV provision.

My explorer intakes are no longer for sale (ill go fix that now) I am installing the explorer upper and lower, the above 65mm throttle body, and this BBK EGR spacer

Just need to figure out how to make it all work.

hate to break the news, but the link you provided is NOT a 65mm Throttle body, it appears to be a stock Mustang 60mm throttle body.

if you notice the lip inside the opening, near the throttle plate, this indicates a 60mm, a 65mm doesnt have the lip. you can have the 60mm throttle body bored to 63mm. check out www.aspracing.com

Just run a stock 60mm Mustang TB, unless you are going nutty on the heads, it won't be a restriction.

Ok, I think I have it figured out, the easiest way to do this is to drill/tap holes in the BBK 65mm EGR spacer I just bought, and install some studs with threadlocker, and bolt up the linkage that way. Then I am going to get a BBK or other Ford Motorsport 65mm TB for a Mustang, and grind and swap on the towncar throttle plate. I have a drill press and a 1/2" drill, and some metal drill bits, so I think I can do it from home. I plan to line up the spacers side by side and get a general idea of where to drill the holes. Just got to be careful not to drill into the EGR or the coolant chamber.

just swap linkages. i'm running an exploder TB on mine, just need a grinder (bench grinder is the fastest) and preferably a welder, or just some epoxy.

grind off the mushroom end at the bottom of the linkage. pry off the linkage (may require some muscle, suggest you do this on the CV linkage first) then do this to the other. if youre using epoxy, coat both sides before reinstalling. if you're welding, tack weld the bottom. done.

i love the beefiness of the exploder TB myself:

Or,you could do it the easy way, like I did:

First off you need to order the Holley 20-2 Ball Stud Assortment, found here: Link

Then,Take the HO TB,cut off the throttle ball and grind the area smooth.Next hold up the lopo TB lever to the HO lever, and mark on the HO lever where the TV Cable/Throttle Ball holes need to go.

Next,Drill your TV cable hole out to the right size (I think you need a 25/64in Bit.),and then drill your throttle ball hole out with a 1/4in Bit.Next,Install the appropriate size throttle ball from the Holley kit, tighten it as tight as you can get it,and your ready to rock.

WARNING:Be sure to pay attention to any changes in the way your trans shifts after installing the new TB.If you drilled your tv cable hole off center any,you may need to adjust your TV Cable,or your trans could be fried.

Having done it both ways,I can definitely say this method is easier.

I just thought I would put that out there for people as an alternative way to get it done,as most people don't have a welder or welding skills.
