    Shifter = Junk

    I went to leave my house in my 91 GMGS a couple days ago when i pull the shifter tward me to engage reverse the shifter let go somewhere in the colum. I beleave what started it was a plastic bushing came off the shaft. I just wanted to know if its and easy fix, or should i just get a new colum?

        The tube is replaceable. Its a known issue on 90+ cars. usually they get old, and the bolts get loose, and eventually it causes it to break.

          You need a shift tube and the inner rod. The tube breaks and bends the rod, or vice versa. I think it is like $25 in parts from the dealer and an hour or two to fix. I did one on a 95 grand marq about 2 years ago
