    Lucas UCL

Has anyone else had an amazingly good experience with Lucas Upper Cylinder Lubricant + Fuel Injector Cleaner? Just wondering if there could be a downside to running it with every tank of gas, as I've been doing in my Taurus for the last 3 months, until my tranny starting actin' up, and my box for the last week. I'm really not into Oil or Gas additives at all. All I'll use is Techron once a summer, and that's about it, but this shit seems like the real deal, and claims to be alright for every tank, since there are no solvents or anything. Does that ring true?

It could be my imagination, but I swear the stuff smoothed out my idle a touch, gave me 4 MPG more, from 23 (I calculate mixed driving) in the Taurus to friggin' 27! Too early for a large enough sample size in the CV, but I have a feeling it's picked up, too. The bottle says as long as you use the recommended amount, it's safe for use every tank. Dunno if I believe that. I just don't wanna be burnin' up my fuel lines or anything.

when i have the extra bucks, i pick up a gallon of lucas injector cleaner and give the whole fleet a treatment.....usually twice a year or so......is that smog pump still noisy as hell? may i suggest removing the metal pipe and the check valve so it's not trying to force air thru where you have crimped the metal line.....sorry i forgot to mention that and ask if you wanted it removed

Yeah, it's still extremely noisy. When we do the radiator and exhaust in February or March, we'll get rid of the smog pump altogether, especially since I got no cats for it to warm up. What should I do to shut it up for now?

i'd say remove the belt but then you gotta take both belts off, or cut the belt but that would be a waste cause it's brandy new

look where that steel tube that you crimped off connects to the rubber hose via hose clamp and seperate it there.....should be less noisy.....if not meet up with me some evening and i'll take care of it no charge
