I have a hard time believing aluminum+ethanol is bad. How else would you run it through a carb? The guys in Hot Rod were running it on a Holley 4bbl, which was made of...*gasp*...aluminum!

25 yrs out there damm! in pa it's 15 yrs old for a classic plate.......my lincoln gets emmisions because it's still registered in another county but i'm always exempt cause it's under 5,000 miles a yr anyway.......if i ever go over 5,000 miles a yr i will get a classic tag.......the classic plate costs 150 dollars once, never have to reregister the car again, it is permanent, and only a saftey inspection is required every yr.

I like the video of that Honda V8. Makes me want to go test-drive a streetgoing Honda with a V8.
and FGP, with fuel injection you'd likely want a TwEECer or similar tuning device so you can radically alter your stoichiometric air-fuel ratio (need app. 7:1 for good power vs. 12-14:1 for gasoline); other than that, I think it'd mainly be concerns about the alcohol possibly damaging fuel-system O-rings, etc. during long-term use, but that's not that hard to remedy. Most of the lines on a factory-injected car are steel and nylon anyway, so that much at least will probably be OK.Last edited by 1987cp; 10-31-2007, 08:15 AM.2012 Mazda5 Touring | Finally working on the LTD again!

I would like too. Looks like I'm keeping the 358 in there and pursuing E85. I'm researching AFR monitors right now. Every day when I wind out the Mark VIII it makes me think of what it would be like in the Vic, however.Last edited by torquelover; 10-31-2007, 09:51 PM.

There's a guy on CVN with a 289 in a whale...dunno of any 4.6 boxes. If you were gonna go through all the trouble, though, you'd be best off doing a 5.4.
