    Carbed H.O Conv.?

I have read Mike (Mr.LTD)'s post on a H.O Conversion parts list for a EFI/FI setup, what all is needed other than the E7 Heads, the rest was for the EFI stuff....

Also, what all can I do to boost the torque on the vic, stock 351w, 2bbl....I know a new camshaft would do SOME of the work, but is there anything ELSE that can be done? As I said, I am looking for quick ways to boost the torque....

The parts I am in the process of getting is:

    e7 heads
    Ford Racing Aluminum Intake Manifold
    BBK Shorty Mustang headers
    Summit Racing X-pipe
    New Full 2.5" exhaust
    Summit Racing Camshaft 204*/214*-1,500-4,000rpm
    A Short Throw Shift Kit

And a few other things I can't think of at this time, any and all info, insight or advice is appreciated greatly....

Why would you buy a Performer RPM from FRPP? You can just pick one up used on Ebay for far less.....

I looked in the current catalog and they no longer list the RPM for a 351W. They currently list it for 302 and they only list the Victor Jr for 351W.

cut the shifter handle to 3" so you can shift with handcuffs and a chain steering wheel?

Buy turbo's intake manifold. It's good for what you want to use.

You're talking about the RPM? Does FRPP still carry them? I didn't see them in the catalog...

If we are looking to boost torque, you need to switch that exhaust plan to a basic 2 1/4" dual exhaust, with a basic H-pipe.

Heads? Get a set of 54CC 1964-1967 289 heads, or 1968 302 4V heads (ONLY USE THE 4-BARREL VERSION), and have the head bolt holes drilled to 1/2 (from 7/16th's). You could opt for some port work...but this will bump compression up to around 9.5:1 compression...without losing any port flow velocity. This is going to be the best head for bumping torque up, without going to an aftermarket head, and still be able to use a regular 302/351W exhaust header.

Make sure to perform a leakdown test before doing any work to the car...

Why would you use the intake that runs from 1500-6500 when the cam is done at 4000? The regular performer is idle to 5500, no? Why mess with the FRPP/ RPM?

Performers suck little tiny puppy balls. The RPM is a real intake. You do not loose any significant torque at any practical RPM range with a RPM. The RPM will give you performance potential far beyond the Performer even at lower RPMs. Edelbrock lists RPM range for the RPM 1500-6500. Even at 1400 it should be making more torque than the Performer. Edelbrock does a good job in maintaining mixture velocity with the RPM compared to the Performer while having a larger cross section in the runners.

That'd be for a manual transmission, so that the shifts are faster. There's no use for such a devise in an automatic.

Good to know. What do you think about the Weiand Stealth?

I don't like the quality of Edelbrock stuff, personally. Any other good brands?

I like the Stealth better than the Performer RPM but they are a couple of more bucks new and harder to find used. The Offy 360 (not the evil dual port) is another good one. For a 302, the Blue Thunder is excelente.......
