I would go mass air and eliminate the headaches. The SD system for a 302 will run a little lean as it cannot adjust to the increased displacement. Never the less it would probably run, just not optimally

Well, you won't know until you try it! Just go get a 1993 Cobra R ECU and it will work fine.

The one factory-calibrated for 24# injectors? I thought someone was warning against using those for some reason?

The 93 cobra R is insanely rare and probably impossible to get. I was joking....

As for the standard Cobra ECU, it's kinda bleh.

What were the main differences between the regular Cobra and the Cobra R? I actually know next to nothing about the '93 "R" model in general, and less about its ECU.

I bet it would run fine with mass air, one of those cheater MAF meters, and 24# injectors. SD, dont know if it would deliver enough fuel with the extra displacement. Prob would work fine if tuned, or maybe if the fuel pressure got cranked up, but I doubt it would be ideal.
