thats where it be. If you pull the vacuum line, it might stall, or it just might start chugging and huffing and running generally horrible. Mine ran like that when I first put the Explorer intake on. There was a mud wasp nest built inside the vacuum pipe on the manifold I had it hooked to, so it got no vacuum. Horribly stinking exhaust, black smoke, the whole gig. No idea about unplugging the electrical connector, never tried that.

I meant the vacuum line. It stalled when I unplugged it. How do I test vacuum wit- wait a second... I was supposed to test vacuum on the canister purge solenoid, not the MAP. D'oh! okay, that'll be tomorrow's project.
And when I plugged my gauge into the oil fill hose, I disconnected it at the throttle body and tested the vacuum inside the crankcase, not the vacuum in the air intake... I wish my gas mileage problems were as simple as a horribly clogged air filter.

5" in the crankcase means your pcv system is definitely working OK. Thought you had it the other way around, in which case that would have been no good at all.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Huh... PSI reads steady at ~23 at the canister purge solenoid. Guess it's not a vacuum issue then...
Anyone have any other ideas? I'm guessing at least one of my calipers is slightly sticky as it likes to pull to the left pretty often and this car always had spot-on alignment before. I don't think a slightly sticky caliper would really destroy my gas mileage as much as (now) 11 mpg on the highway... would it? I used to be able to squeeze 25 out with the A/C blasting. I need to replace it but haven't had the chance yet.
Anything else I can check besides the brakes?

23"? shit thats excellent.
caliper definitely isn't helping you any if its dragging. will the car roll free if in neutral on flat ground? you should be able to push it fairly easily.
have you checked it for codes by chance?86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).
