is it ok (for now) to simply remove the ac, air pump belt to free up a little power and economy or will it make it run crappy or not at all? been looking at the old forums on removing all the smog crap and would like to do that soon but for now....

You won't really gain much power or fuel economy from it, but it won't hurt anything.

won't hurt anything, won't help anything either. the smog pump uses very little power, and the ac uses nearly nothing when not turned on.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

i hoped it would. had a 4 cylinder and took the back belt off of it which ran the ac and air pump (tensioner pulley was going out) and noticed a pretty big difference. figured it was in the same ballpark as replacing a mechanical fan with an electric fan . anything to take a load off the crank.s265.photobucket.com/albums/ii208/brokebill/
