That would be a good 351W cam, I reckon.

I know you ain't considered it, but perhaps a 351W would be right up your alley?

Dunno if the stock valvesprings will handle that much lift, but it says it comes with valvesprings. Just be prepared to do a little head work. Also raises the question of piston to valve clearance (but someone else will have to answer that question).

It also may benefit from a higher stall speed converter.

Heads will be a bit of a restriction, as well.

However, a set of GT40's from a classified ad will help with that.

yea, Carb woudl be the way to go.

if you can find someone who really knows how to tune a Carb'd motor, you could get some decent mpg...while making some good power.

good GAWD! that is a BEAutiful car!
gawd, a well-built 351W would kick butt in that car!

e7 heads are the stock HO heads on 87+ mustangs and 88+ mark vii. they're not bad but not much better than what you have now. They do have smaller combustion chambers so you'd get some more compression. same valve as your current heads too. if you're gonna change the heads, i'd go with a gt40 or gt40p, they're much better for the effort involved. gt40p heads need specific headers but they work real well.
