go for it as long as the fluid isnt nasty.......shift kit is keeping my aod in the towny alive......it has 200,000 miles, i changed the fluid 4 times since 1998......fluid was nice when i got the car

Teh fluid is nasty still. I've dropped the pan, changed the filter, and refilled twice (but not the converter). I'm trying to get it used to the new fluid before I completely change it.

But it's never shown any signs of slipping. I have the maintenece records and the guy changed the fluid every 30K since it was new. But that TV grommet broke and he drove it around for a while like that and that's what turned the fluid brown. It was all in the city though.

Drain the converter... then you know you have all clean fluid.
