    What can and connot be used from the mustang 5.0s

    I was looking through the latest Summit catalog. and got to thinking. What parts for the mustang 5.0 will work and what will not work.

    I know some intakes will not
    shorty headers
    only certain valve covers
    certain cams


    What about:

    fuel pressure regulators
    fuel rails ( should)
    Roller rockers
    water pumps ( some won't)
    timing sets
    Etc

    all the internal 302 stuff will work. the intakes will work, just have to be flipped. and you have to have a standard rotation water pump, not the mustangs reverse water pump

      fuel rails do not. The feed and return are both on the passenger side of a Fox car, they're on opposite sides for a Panther. 3 bolt Fox regulators are OK.

      Water pumps do not if its a serp belt setup since they counter-rotate

      long tube headers dont clear the frame

      motor mounts do not.

      everything else works to varying degrees. Its usually less a matter of 'it won't fit' than 'its a poor match for a heavy car application'.

        And a lot of the mustang hard parts require engine turning or modification to accept mustang engine management.
