    PS pump?

Does anyone know if there is a way to replace the plastic bodied PS pump with a GM saginaw type? (without having to fabricate brackets) I know they make one for early/mid 80's Ford trucks.

Heck, maybe even one of the older all steel pumps that came on earlier Fords.

I tried the search, but didn't come up with anything.

That's what I did - about $30 at Autozone. What would be the advantages of the GM pump?

I am actually working on doing a remote mount pump for the town car. I have modded a factory mount to work with the 4.6 PS pump. just waiting to find a PI box to put with it.

I'm running the original pump. 22 years, 170k miles, and it just barely seeps out of the front seal. Its not even enough to drip, just enough to leave an oily film on the front of the bracket. Its also quiet. All it took was a good fluid flush and a shot of Lucas PS snot in the pump and its been fine. A 4.6 pump would be nice though, no need to fab up custom pressure lines.

No plastic body or "O" rings.
