would a throttle cable made for an aod mustang work? assuming i had the intake pointing towards the pass side. i know the 351 and 302ho use the same firing order so i could use the mustang mass air harness and ecu.

Blaze86Vic would be the best one for that question, as he used a complete stock '94-'95 302 with the bend in the intake. I imagine some of the other PA/VA guys who know his car could answer that as well ....

well, from what desktop dyno runs show, plus the longevity and peace of mind of a 351 versus a stroked out 302 i might go with that since ive heard the stock 351 block will handle 700hp stock all day. what kind of rotating assembly should i be using for a 400hp 500tq engine in a 351? would upgrading the rods and pistons be necessary? since ive been told the stock 351 crank is pretty strong or should i get a forged crank as well?

Pirate knows lots about 351W connecting rods. Here's a tech thread he stickied, if you haven't seen it yet: http://www.grandmarq.net/vb/showthre...51+thread+doom

Desktop dyno is no comparison to real world driving. Its say what I think my engine combo is has gobs of torque at low rpm, yet its a dog till 2500 from a stop. Won't even try to bark a tire yet would probably spin em on the 1-2 shift with a good trans. Torque is more fun than hp. 408w with a mild cam and good heads would be tons of fun and streetable.

yea i know desktop dyno is just a ballpark estimate really, since depending on which version the hp swings about 50hp plus either way. i think with the afr 185 heads i should be able to get somewhere in the area of 400hp and 500 ft lbs from a stock stroker 351w, correct me if im wrong. although a 393 is still a possibility which would offer alot more torque. any recommendations on combos for a 351w to reach 400hp and 500tq would be appreciated.

Ask someone else on the combo's. I throw random parts together and cross my fingers. But those ballpark estimates are way off from driving reality. I'd bet my lopo car could take my modded one off the line.

yea, and to correct my last post im not going to do a stroked 351, must have made a typo there. but i know the 351w will make more torque than the 302 anyday.
