    Trans go hp shift kit

I am considering buying a trans-go HP shift kit. I have a few questions about it
This kit offers two setting of performance shifts. This kit offers a firm muscle car shift: holds 1st, 2nd, 3rd to any rpm. Wide open 3-4 shift; Holds 4th at high speed. Includes AOD-HIREV kit. This kit will fit the 1984 thru 1992 AOD transmissions. This kit will reduce the slippage in the transmission and increase the life of the transmission.
When they say holds 1st 2nd and 3rd to any rpm, How do you shift? 2.)Say I just want to drive normally will it shift on its own or do I have to work the throttle? 3.) Is the HI REV kit a govenor and is it better than a HO style? 4.)Also it down shifts at any rpm, how does that work?
    This is the kit: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

Works like it says. When I goto the track and go WOT i usually let up to get it to shift at 5500. The governor that comes with the kit is listed for 5500rpm shifts. I have a wide ratio kit and 4900rpm stang governor to do the same thing.

It will be well worth it if you wanna go further with the performance enhancements. It'll break loose my 275/40-17 Kumho's on the 1-2

Lets just say I want to cruise, will it shift like a normal automatic or do I have to let off the gas. I'm also going to put alot of parts on the motor, cam,carb,manifold,headers,heads,ignition..... That is why I want to get this kit.
Also The trans is out of an 89 so i guess it has a b servo, is it alright for now or should I get the A servo. I'm taking the blown one out of the 85 and rebuilding it with heavy duty parts, so 89 does not need to be bulletproof or last really long. I'm just driving it for now cause I need a car and I want the tires to bark when I hit second.

If you want it to shift like a normal automatic, it will. If you want to hold it out to a certain rpm, just keep it peeged to the floor and letup when you want to shift

If the trans came from a panther it has a C servo. I have mine built iwth an a+ servo and a 2" od band from the wide-ratio kit for high rpm OD shifts

If you're gonna build a trans, Id build it to handle a good ibt of power at first. Then get the engine caught up to it and you have to rebuild the trans again, throwing in even more go-fast(er) parts

Ok great, I needed to know that before I buy it. But I thought B servos came in 85+? [/quote]The "B" servo is a larger unit used in most post-1985 V-8 applications, all 351 applications, and High Output applications (i.e. Mustang G.T. 5.0 L, Lincoln LSC). This unit provides a 30% increase in band application force over the "C" servo.

This came off this site: http://www.becontrols.com/tech/aodsupgr.htm
Since it is an 89 it should have the b servo right, or am I mistaken?

Well I took it it for a test drive today and I am part pleased and a little dissapointed. The bad news, It will not even chirp my tires probably since its a cfi car with very little mods. And it always downshifts when you just "touch" the throttle which means When I am crusin at say 35 and just put my foot on it, she goes back into first. I am almost damn sure the TV is set right to factory specs, should I increase it to chirp em? Now the good news. The car is alot more peppy. When you get on the gas it downshifts right away to get up and go. And she revs to the moon now, but I take it easy. Is this normal until it breaks in? Cause I dont like how it keeps up and down shifting when I just touch the gas. Makes me nervous. I think if I keep driving it, it will work the bugs out. At first it wouldnt shift into first on its own until I drove it a little. We will see what happens.

What mods do you have, putting a high rev governor with a lopo isn't a good idea, it'll never upshift. I had that problem when I did mine. That's why it's shifting all funky also. Try putting the regular governor in it and see how it does.
