You can do this by removing the return hose and spinning the pump by hand with the belt off. Less mess, but that return hose is usually a rock, and will probably have to be cut to get it off the reservoir without breaking the reservoir. I flushed mine when I replaced the lines. If you're not messing with the lines, the turkey baster method works fine. If you can add a bit of tube to the end to get further down into the pump, you're a bit ahead of the game.
