Need a lot more details on what your exhaust system will be. What diameter pipe? Are you cobbling it together from parts you can purchase off the shelf, or having a shop bend it up for you? By size, do you mean inlet/outlet diameter, or length, or both?

Still, it'd be helpful to know what pipe diameter and configuration they'll be using. For example, for a direct-replacement installation, Walker has some offset configuration glasspacks in 2" in and out, or for all we know you might be having custom long-tube headers built and would prefer a set of 4" diameter Flowtech Purple Hornies.2012 Mazda5 Touring | Finally working on the LTD again!

I believe you had said 2.25" at one point... If you are going custom bent you can quite literally fit almost any length under the car but the standard 18" case should be fine for what you have with cats and such. Stay away from Chery Bomb, every pair I have used has either sounded like ass or burnt out in a week. Thrush, Flo-pro and Flowtech(Red Hots or Purple Hornies) are the ones to use.
Purple Hornies only come in 2.25" btw. Even the headder mount ones with the 3" outlets have the 2.25" core. That said, that standard ones are a VERY nice sounding muffler.1990 LTD Crown Vic w/ dead 5.0

Either way, it is very easy to fit 2.25" pipes if you cut the original system in front of the Y pipe flanges. I used four 45 degree bends to adapt to those when I first did duals on the wagon, and clamped the 2.25" ID swages directly to the pipes behind the cats.2012 Mazda5 Touring | Finally working on the LTD again!

I would seriously consider flowmaster. They sound great on these panthers. If i could make a suggestion, flowmaster super 44's and turndowns at the rear axle. You will be very pleased if you go that route. Its the real deal muscle sound, they sound a little "fake" on some trucks and other stuff but we lucked out with the panther sound... In a month so far, 2 people have asked me what motor I swapped in... i'm rockin the stock LOPO 302 haha.
its what i have and heres a vid of it

Flowbastards cost a lot, and depending on the configuration, not everyone can take the noise. Plus, some localities are less tolerant than others on the subject of whether to run tailpipes.
As for being "the real deal musclecar sound", I was amused to discover that Flowmaster didn't enter the marketplace till around 1980!2012 Mazda5 Touring | Finally working on the LTD again!

yeh trust me i know, their $140 each here in canada plus 15% tax... and thats when cars stopped sounding good so flowmaster had a purpose after the muscle car era to bring back that sound to people who wanted it. If someone is looking to run glasspacks, noise is probly wanted, I would prefer the noise of a flowmaster over glasspack myself. just my 2 cents. Finally have an on the books porting/custom fab business!

I would recommend a Thrush glasspack if you wan that deep chambered tone. They're 30 bucks, come with a lifetime warranty and flow better than a Flowmaster 40. A lot of guys are using them on their 350 GM trucks and they sound amazing, nothing like you'd expenct from a 30 dollar muffler. I think I may try them when I put tails on my Mustang if I don't go with Magnaflow.
Not exactly your setup and not good sound quality but it's the closest I could find to your application: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7S_nmfsHpaA
I can post better vids with good sound quality but they won't be a lopo Vic, might be a 350 or a 4.6L Vic but it gives you an idea of how they sound.88 Town Car (wrecked, for sale)

I have generic glasspacks, but I got them 45"- 48" long under the HillbillySUV.
They sound much better than they have a right to. They sound more like a performance muffler than a glasspack. They are just loud enough without being annoying.Owner of the only known 5 speed box wagon with a lift kit.
