I have a hole in my transmission!

At least that's what I think it is. Judge for yourselves!

What the hell should I do? Is there a way to rig this up? lol

I noticed this today after I've had the car jacked up for a few days while I'm trying to re-do some of the suspension pieces. I noticed a puddle under the car and I traced it back to this :-(

The funny thing is the car shifts totally fine

between the bellhousing and block plate? Don't worry about it, bud. That's more likely to be oil than transmission fluid.

Give a man a fish and he will be fed for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will promptly forget that he once did not know, and proceed to call anyone who asks, a n00b and flame them on the boards for being stupid.

Don't worry guys I fixed it up with some mighty putty.

          j/k

I know it looks like oil in the picture, but the crappy camera phone didn't pick up enough reds or something. It's much more red in person, trust me lol. I did have a friend who is a mechanic look at it and he said it's some sort of drain for something and it's normal.

It might actually just be tranny fluid from somewhere else because I did notice I have it pretty much all over. It probably ran down to that point somehow.

I just saw red fluid and that hole and freaked out! I thought maybe I hit a pothole and a beaver tooth at the same time and ended up with a messed up hole heh.

          Thanks for the advice everyone.

the machined hole in the case is supposed to be there.
if the leak is a few drips, I wouldnt worry about it.

If it pours out, then you have a problem.
