    Help

Now I'm putting everything back on the car but the thing is not sure exactly where all the nuts and bolts belong to. I'm putting all the pulleys and water pump back together among other things

Is there any good diagram out there?

    yikes..

if there is i haven't found one yet. I made the mistake of mixing all the studs and bolt together once doing the water pump, it wasn't fun at all.. I was doing the HO conversion at the time so that also may have made it alot worse.

I figured it out, but now I'm putting the pushrods back in but do I need to find TDC or can I just put them in and tighten them in?

different items entirely. Roller rockers have to do with the style, pedastal has to do with how it attaches to the head. The stockers are pedastal, meaning they bolt in and are set to a pre-determined height above the head by the metal pedastals under them. Roller has to do with the roller on the end and the bearings at the rocker fulcrum that reduce friction. You can get roller rockers in both a pedastal mount that will just bolt in place of stock rockers, or stud mount which requires modification to the heads, or heads designed to run stud mount rockers. You can also get roller tip rockers, which is basically a stock rocker with a roller where it contacts the valve tip, but the metal on metal "sled" for the pivot point.

ok so let me get the straight the car's stock rockers are pedestal so which means i dont have to find the top dead center for every cylinder just adjust the valve lash i guess?

so i could just bolt them straight in?

What Scotty said. Pedestal rockers just bolt down and that's it, no checking anything if they're right. If everything's stock, original, and otherwise unchanged, you should always be able to just snug them with your torque wrench and not care. IF you have made changes, you will want to check the lifter preload on cylinder #1.

What is it that you're trying to do, anyway?

No adjusting of valve lash, just bolt it down. You should check the lifter preload to make sure its where it should be, but theres no adjustment per se. The only way to change it is by shimming under the pedestal, or changing the pushrods.
