    replaced alternator,motor stills runs rough

Driving home yesterday from work the volt light kicks on on the dash, then the car started running really rough. I stopped to check things over under the hood, everything thing seemed ok,cleaned the battery terminals. It was driving better afterwards, but then it started doing the same thing this morning only much worse. Had the charging system tested, the diodes in the alternator were shot. I also used a voltmeter. Battery was 12.2 volts. Running, I got 14.8,then it starts running rough, and the volts were jumping between 11.1 and 14.4/14.7. Replaced the alternator, but the engine still runs weird, almost like the timing is scattered, or something is wrong with the ignition system. It bucks, misses, but if I get on the throttle, it clears up. What could be going on here? TFI module? I don't see any codes(YET...),as the battery was disconnected during the alt swap.

alternator pumping out AC could have smoked the TFI or the computer. Hopefully its just the TFI.

As far vacuum leaks, none that I'm aware. It wasn't driving bad like this before this started happening, but with all my engine problems a while ago I would have to say no on any leaks.
I drove to work today and managed to get only one(if you count a system pass code 11)code-02 sensor lean left side-cannot switch.
I'll try to dig up on how to test the tfi module. Hell,I even think most auto stores can test it(or the dizzy as a whole unit.)

        Thanks doods.

one symptom is still there as well. While cruising at highway speeds, the lights in the dash alternate from bright,to dim-even though there is no change in engine rpm. I know that the wiper switch in the column is bad. If i hit the wiper on the first setting, the wiper doesn't move, but my 2 turn signal lights and HI-beam indicators go on. The only way the lights go off in the dash is to turn the parking lights on,or the headlights. But ofcourse, the wipers will only cycle at lo-speed and hi-speed settings. Or if i have my right turn signal on. Electrical problems are about the worst damn thing to check for or work on IMO. Any help would be greatly appreciated before i start tearing the car apart. Need a good plan of attack on this thing....

really hoping with a few more KOER/KOEO cycles more codes will show their ugly bright yellow faces......for now I've got a new 02 sensor ready to go in tomorrow.
