cranks, but no start

    problem solved. some moron ordered the wrong size pushrods. too long meaning they kept the valves open... 6.32" vs the stock 6.25". not long enough to cause any damage, but long enough to keep the valves from seating...
    that is the only thing we have done since the last post we made, and it runs just fine.

      yeah that 'splains it. Didn't even consider the pushrods. I've never used anything but the stock ones, so its never entered my mind about getting the wrong ones.

        If you need a hand in the future, drop me a line as I am in Green Bay. I didn't notice this thread back when you first had the problems or I would have said something then.
        A helpful hint for the future is to always check lifter preload any time you are bolting down rocker arms. The longer pushrods would have given you absolutely insane preload and you would have noticed it immediately.

            cracked rotor/cracked distributor cap!
            90 Colony Park LS with GT 40 heads and intake. HO cam, 65 MM TB, 67 MM EGR spacer. Has a 75 MM Pro Flow mass air sensor. Borla XS mufflers. 3L55. Shift kit, 2000 stall Tq convertor...Bilstein shocks, front and rear sway bars.
            90 Colony Park LS 64,000 miles all original. 3L55 tow package....front and rear sway bars.
            91 Grand Marquis GS....HO motor..Bilstein shocks poly bushings and police swaybars. This one handles the best.
            70 Torino Squire with M code 351 Cleveland 3.00 has Magnaflow mufflers. Hidden headlights and power windows. All original
