    stuck...

Well, the 87 cv went thump, & then shut off.
It's too dark to see anything. I do have a spark @ the coil wire, I can't find the shrader valve.
I can hear the fuel pump. Hey it just started! I hope I can make it home.....

Yeah, I was thinking of that. When I was checking for spark it seemed weak @ first, but a
later test was normal, maybe I wasn't close enough to ground. My 10 yr old was hitting the key for me, I don't know if he was hearing the pump, I heard it later, still no start, then it fired up just as my wife was pulling in to pick us up.
As far as I know both TFI & FP are 23 yrs old......

When I have some time to play w\it I guess the only way to t-shoot it will be to fire it up, let it idle & hope it pukes.....

I've never had any sucess w\pulling the codes on the 'stangs...

TFI or pickup getting hot and crapping out is an old story. Might be worth it to replace them just in case.

I "borrowed" the TFI from another car & swapped it in. I'll just have to take my chances & drive it & see what happens LOL.

I have never had a pickup go bad, maybe I've been lucky....

I've been looking for an excuse to put an aftermarket dizzy in the Capri, maybe now I can justify it & rotate the stock one from the Capri into the CS.......

I've seen one die, on Tom's car. He was driving down the road and it just shut off. New TFI made no spark. Swapped distributors with a used spare and it ran again. I know another guy who had ongoing random running problems that nothing else fixed. New pickup was installed as a last ditch effort and its been running perfectly ever since. I think the pickup design was revised in 87 or 88 to fix something. One of those cars that died was an 87, the one with running issues was an 85.
