    If it is from a car with a 5.0 HO, then yes.

      Little info on HO ECMs. The 86-87 Mark 7s either had a lopo engine (base model or Bill Blass) or an e6 headed HO (LSC only). The 86-87 HO computer MAY be different due to the head design. Not 100% on this, but I wouldn't take the chance. From 1988 - 1992, all Mark 7 models had the same HO engine, so the ECM are all essentially the same. The 88 and newer also have computer integrated cruise, which is what you need on your car to retain cruise control operation. The 86 Mustang engine and ECM should be identical to the 86-87 Mark 7 HO ECM. Had the same crappy heads. 87-88 Mustang was a speed density e7 HO engine without integrated cruise control. 88 California and all 89+ Mustang are mass-air non-integrated cruise ECM.

      So, to make a long post short, what you want for a HO swap in a Panther is any 88-92 Mark 7 ECM. The specific trim package of the donor Mark 7 doesn't matter at all. They all ran the same motor during that time.

      And BTW, I think Lincolnmania has a couple ECMs sitting around. Or he will in a week when I trade him the two I have sitting in my trunk.

        1986 lincoln towncar signature series. 5.0 HO with thumper performance ported e7 heads, 1.7 roller rockers, warm air intake, 65mm throttle body, 1/2" intake spacer, ported intakes, 3.73 rear with trac lock, 98-02 front brake conversion, 92-97 rear disc conversion, 1" rear swaybar, 1 3/16" front swaybar, 16" wheels and tires, loud ass stereo system, badass cb, best time to date 15.94 at 87 mph. lots of mods in the works 221.8 rwhp 278 rwt

            ask him for a close up shot of the ECM catch code. you should be able to tell what the ECM is out of with that .

              Just curious, the "catch code" would be the 5 digit number printed on the label right? Any interpretation on these two:
              A9L17
              M9L18

              Both of them came from 90s Bill Blass Mark 7s. Not sure the year but it was after they re-designed the dash. I'm just curious if there is some master list someplace of what those codes actually mean.
