    rebuilding the vv carb

I had bought me a rebuild kit from o'reilys. I am picking it up today. I took one of the carburetors I had in my building and rebuilding that one. The only problem with that one was when I go over a bump it'll stall or if I go around a curve or make a fast turn itll stall and hard to crank back unless held to the floor. The weirdest thing is that somebody had this thing rebuilt. Had a sticker on it said %100 tested and remanufacted by holley. I thought that was weird and I didn't see any reason why this carb had the problem that it had. I hope when I rebuild this thing that it doesn't have the same annoying problem... or I should I just rebuild the old original carb that I have in the building instead?

Kind of sounds like a fuel level problem to me if i had to guess.... Floats adjusted incorrectly?? Does the rebuild kit come with new float(s)? It' d be interesting to take it apart and see if anything looks unusual in there...however it is your call. What was wrong with your original, er actually I'm a little confused, you have 2 carbs, one is on the car now and was rebuilt by holly, and the original one that was on the car originally is in your building?

Nah I have 2 in my building. The one I ran before was the remanufacted one that im tearing down now. That's the one that had weird issues. It don't really need to be cleaned. Everything still looks great. No carbon build up. Im leaving now to pick up the kit to see what all comes with it. Said rebuild kit plus tune up? Idk. Im gonna go find out.

Hey guys. Im actually kinda confused about this thing. I took it all apart last night and It just seems like so much stuff in there. Idk. The point is I don't really trust myself rebuilding this thing. I feel like a damn idiot. So im gonna have a friend of mine rebuild it instead. He's really good when it comes to stuff like this. He's got a memory like an elephant. But anyways I got some pictures of what all it came with. Hope its a good deal. Im not sure. But Ill let yall know how it turns out when I get it back. It all should be okay. I'll just have to see.

I know its been awhile. I still haven't got my damn carb back! I took it to my mechanic to rebuild

I finally just rode up there. I was like I really need that carb now have you started it??? He says "no to be honest I don't want to touch. Have you checked for a new one?"
I said yeah about 300 to 400 bucks! If you want me to just take it back I will. I'll see if I can find somebody else.
He says"well let me ask mike (a very smart mechanic that works for him) says yeah sure! Wont be a problem. Ive rebuilt a few of these. Said about 30 mins to teardown and 45 to put back.

Anyways kinda pissed me off since its been over there for like a week and never called me. He didn't even ask his damn mechanic about it!? He acted like he was afraid of it and wanted me to take it back... and he didn't even ask mike.

But anyways I should have it back by tomorrow or Monday for sure. I know mike will get it done.

          Just an update for ya
