    Flex plate question?

Since I'm going from fmx to aod in my 80 ltd should I change my flexplate from 28 to 50 oz (aod is from 90 cv ltd)? Why did Ford changed flexplate weight?

Use your stock flexplate. The imbalance is for the motor not the trans. I'm not sure if it will bolt up or not.

Use a 28 on a 1980 motor. The crankshaft changed in the engine, which made both the flexplate and the balancer change from a 28 to a 50 oz imbalance. I don't know what reason Ford claims for this, but I'd bet it has something to do with being cheaper to make it at 50 oz imbalance.
