What all can I rid of? Clean engine bay up 82 Lincoln

Wanna clean it up a little, already removed the smog pump and hoses, but gonna keep the ac.

Can I get rid of this hose that goes from the intake to I'm guessing the charcoal canister?

And what all else can I remove here on the wheel well?

    Thanks

honestly that EFI system is the devil. If it runs correctly, the absolute best thing you could possibly do with it is leave it alone.

Depending on how brave you are you could stick a 2bbl on that intake manifold instead of that CFI demonry.

unless you are going to convert to an EEC-lV to run the CFI, a carb or later EFI, leave everything alone, and start planning a budget to replace the 30 year old sensors.

RUN, don't walk, to a local junkyard and get this barometric sensor to have a spare on hand.
Napa has new ones but you'll need to bring a nitroglycerin pill and vaseline to the counter with you.

You know the car runs well when the only things left to work on are the rear door cigarette lighters.

The BMAP is the only sensor that is more than $40 on this system. Most of the sensors are in the $30 range.

Maybe I'm lucky, but none of my early '80s Lincolns needed BMAPs replaced, and I ran them for many miles. My current '83 Mark VI runs like a sewing machine even after 125k.

I had bigger problems with the throttle body needing to be refurbished, which any fuel injected system with high miles is subject to this.

I really think people don't understand how basic and robust the early Ford CFI is. It gets a bad rap because you can't just plug in a diagnotic computer that will tell you what to replace. Also, CFI was only used for 4/5 years, so I think ignorance=fear in this case.

It is not groundbreaking and the performance options are nil, but just for a nice driving barge that starts on the first crank no matter what and can get 15-20 mpg, this system is just fine.

3 years for that specific system. It runs fine, but its been my experience that it only runs fine when all the parts are in proper working condition, and connected like stock. They don't take well to improper modification, deletion, and repair. Leave it stock and keep it maintained and it won't give you much grief. Start playing with things and you're on your own.
